July 4th Pet Safety Tips

Hard to believe that July 4th is this Monday!  Wow!  Here are some pet safety tips to keep your precious treasures out of harms way.

  • Keep your pets away from the BBQ area due to matches and lighter fluid.
  • Do not give alcoholic beverages or caffeine to your pets as it is toxic.
  • Keep your pets home; don’t take them to the fireworks display.
  • Make sure your pets have their proper tags attached to their collars. If they were to get loose, they can be properly returned.
  • Lots of dogs end up in shelters on this day as they get disoriented and lost due to fireworks.
  • Keep your dogs in the crate if necessary.  As another option, keep them in the laundry room as it is typically well-ventilated.
  • No table leftovers as they can be toxic.
  • Keep them inside so they are safe.

A weekend of dog walks and cat sits.

Beautiful Morning on Jupiter Dog Beach!

it is such a joy to walk my Maxwell and spend quality time with him.  He truly enjoys going to the beach, playing and interacting with other dogs and meeting fellow dog parents too.  It is such a blessing to live here.

The water is gorgeous.  The sun is rising, the sand and water feels so nice on the feet.  What a way to start our day!

The Story of President Max-well’s Pet Services

Here is the story of President Max-well’s Pet Services?  My name is June Collins and I am the President/Owner and Professional Pet Sitter with President Max-well’s Pet Services. Let me tell you about myself: I was born in Albany, New York and grew up in South Florida. I worked 17 years in the legal profession and as a court reporter for 12 years. I am also fluent in Spanish after living in Venezuela. I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Florida Atlantic University.

As a child, I always had a love for animals and nature. I have always said that “Animals provide unconditional love and are our healers and teachers.” “Nature is there for us. We just have to go out and take a retreat, even if it is for a short time.” While I was a student at FAU I wanted to earn extra income – Some years before I had a German Shepherd, Zeppelin who died – So I needed to fill the void by walking dogs, so I started walking dogs and pet sitting part time. I have been doing this for 15+ years and in May of 2012, I decided to make it a business and named it President Max-well’s Pet Services, Inc. What is in the name? I wanted to combine my dog and cat’s names, as Maxwell is my dog and Presley is my cat; hence, President Maxwell!

I reside with my dog, Maxwell Francis who is a Scottish Terrier/Schipperke mix and my black cat Presley Michael in Jupiter, FL.

Some other activities I enjoys of course, animals, jazz, Scottish Terriers, walking on the beach, bird watching, walking in nature. I am an avid believer in alternative health and modalities. I offer Reiki for animals, which is an ancient Japanese modality that relieves stress, anxiety and pain by unblocking blocked energy.

President Max-well’s Pet Services is located in the beautiful Town of Jupiter, Florida. Licensed with the Town of Jupiter and Palm Beach County. Bonded and Insured with Pet Sitters Associates, LLC. Member in Good Standing with Pet Sitters International. Some other services we offer are mid-day walks, cat sits, overnight stays, and pet taxi where we take your pet to the vet or groomer when you are not at home. We take care of cats, dogs, rabbits, pigs, and small birds. We clean rabbit and small bird cages too! We service the Jupiter, Tequesta, and Palm Beach Gardens areas. I can be reached at 561-827-7298 or email me atjune@presidentmaxwellspetservices.com. We look forward to giving Presidential Treatment to your precious treasures.
